Nadea Cutitaru was born in Republic of Moldova where she lived, studied and worked in finance. She moved to New York City in 2009 with her family, leaving Moldova and the post soviet mentality behind in hopes for a better future.

In 2015,after overcoming a personal emotional struggle she starts expressing herself thru the act of painting, that draws the attention of a New York based artist, whom she had her first apprenticeship with.

Nadea experiments with many different techniques  using  a variate of mediums including spray paint, oil pastels, acrylic colors, oil colors, pencil to craft mystifyingly surreal ,rich-colored paintings of the human forms.

Motivated by a deep inner need to express energy  that surrounds us, the imagery in her work is  a reflection of the influence of social media and fashion industry on humanity, her multiple faces varies from beautiful to uncanny expressions that takes you in a playful abstract colorful ambiance with a positive approach to life.

Artist statement

Colors are my life, the combination and the texture that I like to use on canvas always surprise me.Very often I use spray paint creating the drip that dissolves itself in the thick brush strokes that takes me somewhere out of this world. As a self-taught artist I never know exactly where I’m going,I just go with the flow and the music in my soul does the miracles.”Human potentiality doesn’t have any borders, any form of art is a connection to the soul and the souls are infinite beautiful and beyond human expectation".
